FAQS
Ask Me Anything
Do you offer a free meet and greet?
Absolutely! We want you to absolutely certain that your baby is in the best hands. We do a free meet and greet for all care-related services (house sitting, drop-ins and walks). You have no obligation to book, and if it isn't a great fit for any reason, we often refer to a trusted caregiver in the area.
For dog training, we do a paid consult (only $35). This includes up to 45 minutes of our Trainer (Amelia)'s time and a quick run through of what is involved and expected. Again, there is no obligation to continue after the initial consult! In fact, sometimes the tips you glean are enough to reinvigorate the training your pup has already learned!
What type of training do you do?
Amelia has extensive training in various styles and employs a balanced training method, using the best plan for each dog.
She has mentored under one of Alberta's top service dog trainers, who also was integral in setting up the Service Dog Standards for Saskatchewan. Working to "train the owners and the dog will follow", Amelia helps fill your tool belt with everything your puppy needs to succeed.

Looking to Owner-train your Service Dog prospect, but not sure if you are on the right track? Amelia offers reasonable, accessible rates and access to an "on-call" service for those "am I doing this right" questions.

Puppies often need "beyond the class" help. Amelia meets you in your home and works on basics like counter surfing, demand barking and door manners. Book a consult now to level up your pup!
What is a group walk?
Our off-leash walks are just that - a group of dogs running and playing together. We use lots of treats to keep them close, balls to keep them running and a watchful eye to keep them safe. We spend a full hour at the park, so you know your pup will be tired and happy when you get home! We pick them up and drop them off safe and sound with our awesome converted handi-bus!

Amelia is a professional trainer and an amateur behaviourist, and she watches all the dogs to steer interactions the way we want - happy, healthy and safe!
How many dogs are in a pack walk?
We try not to have more than eight to 12 dogs before adding a handler because we want the pack dynamic to be focussed on play. Off-leash parks are where dogs get to be dogs, release inhibition and run their little hearts out! With a well-curated pack, we keep the dogs interacting with each other in a healthy way, promoting that super important dog-to-dog language that they only get from prolonged outings (more than the ten-second encounters the park is famous for).
How do I know if a pack walk is right for my pup?
Amelia will meet you for a free meet and greet to make sure everything is good. She usually books a one-on-one leashed walk to assess the dog without you there and make sure they can integrate into the pack. sometimes they need a little training or one-on-one walks to build their confidence, and we can totally work with you on that!
How old does my puppy need to be to join the pack?
We love puppies! Getting your new baby into a healthy pack is essential for developing strong, socialized dog relationships. As soon as your pup is fully vaccinated against Parvo (usually 3 or four months) they can join the pack!

We use a long line, slowly letting the pup have more and more freedom as they learn dog language and recall. Sometimes a pup as young as 15 weeks can earn full freedom privileges, and sometimes a pup at 9 months is still on the line. It varies, but we work with your dog to make sure they have the tools they need to succeed!
What are exotic pet drop ins?
We love our exotics! As a child, Amelia's first pet of her own was a snake named Alisss, in addition to the dogs and cats that were family fare. Since then, she has cared for reptiles, rabbits, and small mammals. And many, many fish! For exotic bird lovers, we also have a casual staff member who has her own African Grey!

We can do meds or welfare checks while you are away for any of your scaly or feathered friends! These are typically billed on a base + enclosure rate.
I have a vet appointment and I can't take my pet. Will you drive them?
We can absolutely accommodate a vet-appointment transfer. We do not, however, transfer humans. We transport dogs in our vehicle's back seat. If you have a harness, we will buckle them in. Cats will be transported in your carrier or ours. If using ours, a cleaning fee of $20 will be added to your booking. When asking for this service, make sure you state the pick-up and drop-off locations. Services are billed on a base+ mileage basis.
Our courier is a retired school bus driver with a valid Class 3 license and no demerits/claims.
